Spiritual Life

Our Sunday Services:

9.30am in the Old (little) Church

11.15am in the Old (little) Church (this service has moved to the Old Church as the New Church has boiler issues)

As members of the Inclusive Church Network we aspire to be a faith community where all can feel they belong, and where every person’s gifts and identities are welcomed and celebrated.

Following in the footsteps of Christ we keep an ‘open table’, meaning that at both our main Sunday morning services, everyone is welcome to share in communion, whether it is your very first time in a Christian place of worship or your thousandth.

The earlier service in the little church is a very informal, participatory one that lasts approximately 50 minutes and is especially good for little people. We enjoy the contribution that they make and celebrate with them!

The 11.15am service is more recognisably Anglican in its format. We have a variety of preachers, each with their distinctive approach to faith. Music and song is an important element of this service and we are always on the look out for anyone who’d like to contribute to the musical life of our church. This service is also live-streamed and you can access it by using this link: https://www.facebook.com/stmarystokenewington/live/

Both services are followed by light refreshments and the chance to get to know others. We encourage you to stay on!

Wednesdays at St Mary’s:

At 12pm we hold a small, intimate service of communion in the side chapel of the New Church. This lasts about half an hour.

Soul Food

Soul Food is a fortnightly group for young adults (in their 20s & 30s), meeting at St Mary’s Church centre on Thursday nights 7.30 - 9pm.

We bring and share tasty food, plus make space to share reflections on our week, discuss some text or art that’s moved us, and have a period of shared silence.
